Election Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2025

The City of Fruitland will hold a general election to fill the following positions:

 

• Mayor (4-year term)
• Two (2) City Council Members (4-year terms)

 Candidate Filing Period

• Opens: Monday, August 18, 2025
• Closes: Friday, August 29, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. (local time)

All required paperwork must be filed with the City Clerk’s Office by the deadline.
 
How to File
To appear on the ballot, candidates must submit:

✅ A notarized Declaration of Candidacy and one of the following:

• A $40 non-refundable filing fee,

OR

• A Petition of Candidacy signed by at least five (5) qualified city electors, with signatures verified by the Payette County Clerk

Candidate Qualifications
To run for office, candidates must:

 

• Be at least 18 years of age
•  Be a U.S. citizen
• Be a qualified elector of Fruitland
• Have resided in the city for at least 30 days prior to filing
• Ensure their voter registration address matches the residence address on the declaration

      If contributions or expenditures reach $500, candidates must register a campaign finance account and appoint a Treasurer with the Idaho                     Secretary of  State at https://sunshine.voteidaho.gov

• Withdrawal Deadline: Friday, September 5, 2025
• Write-In candidates must file a Declaration of Intent before 5:00 p.m. on September 5, 2025
