Burn Hours

Open burning regulations within city limits can be found in Title 4 Chapter 2 of the Fruitland City Code. 

Open burning of paper, wood and dry vegetation is allowed during the following hours:

• October 1 - May 31
• 10 a.m. until  4 p.m.
• June 1 - September 30
• 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Please call Payette County Dispatch at 208-452-3110 for large burns to prevent dispatch of fire trucks.

PAYETTE COUNTY BURN BAN

Effective immediately, the City of Fruitland Fire Department will enforce the Payette County Burn Ban within the City of Fruitland. This policy will remain in effect moving forward to ensure consistent fire-safety requirements throughout the community.

When the burn ban is in effect, all burning prohibited by the burn ban is strictly prohibited. This includes outdoor burning and other activities restricted under the Payette County Burn Ban.

🚫 PLEASE DO NOT BURN

During the burn ban:

• No outdoor burning is permitted. Recreational fires contained within BBQs and fire pits are permitted.
• No burning of yard debris or vegetation
• No burning in burn piles
• No burning activities prohibited by the burn ban

Why is this important?

Burn bans are implemented when conditions create an increased risk of wildfire. Even a small fire can quickly become uncontrollable under dry, hot, and windy conditions.
